Novel Approaches to Oral Feeding Readiness Assessment in the Newborn
Miami Neonatology 2015 — Annual International Conference

Jill L. Maron, MD, MPH, associate professor of pediatrics, Tufts Medical Center, in Boston, Massachusetts, reviews the complex factors that determine an infant's ability to successfully feed orally, and analyzes recent research into salivary-based genetic markers predictive of feeding behavior. The development of predictive feeding success models may improve how and when infants transition from enteral to oral feeding.
