Miami Neonatology 2013 — Annual International Conference

Richard J. Schanler, MD, director, Neonatal Services, Cohen Children's Medical Center of New York and Northwell Health, and professor, Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine, will highlight the nutritional emergency presented by preterm, extremely low-birth-weight infants and how nonstandardized feeding protocols can create malnutrition in these neonates. He will offer a comprehensive approach focusing on early and aggressive total parenteral nutrition (TPN) to avoid extrauterine growth restriction and improve other outcomes.
