Jonathan Malka, MD, is director of allergy and immunology at Pediatric Associates in Miami, Florida. Dr. Malka received his medical degree from Universidad Central de Venezuela Escuela Luis Razetti in Caracas, Venezuela, and completed a medical/surgical internship at the Venezuelan Red Cross. He completed a residency in pediatrics at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and an internship at Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center in the Bronx. He also completed diagnostic radiology internships at Mount Sinai Medical School in New York and Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia. Dr. Malka was awarded a research fellowship by the International Center for Interdisciplinary Studies of Immunology at Georgetown University Medical Center and a fellowship in allergy and immunology by the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. Dr. Malka is board certified in pediatrics and in allergy/immunology.
Prior to joining Pediatric Associates, Dr. Malka was an assistant professor in the Department of Pediatrics at National Jewish Health at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver and worked as a general practitioner in an outpatient clinic in Caracas.
Dr. Malka’s professional accomplishments were recognized when he received the Harold J. Gold MD Research Achievement Award and also the International Fellow Distinguished Award in Allergy and Immunology from the International Center for Interdisciplinary Studies of Immunology at Georgetown University Medical Center. His clinical and patient relations skills were recognized when he was named by his peers and the parents of his young patients as their Favorite Pediatric Specialist, for two consecutive years, in a contest sponsored by Broward Family Life Magazine!
Dr. Malka is the author or co-author of numerous articles, book chapters and abstracts in both English and Spanish on topics associated with pediatric allergies, asthma and immunology, and he has given a number of oral and poster presentations in the United States and in Central and South America.
